Keep your cleaning clean
Many of the cleaning products on the market is high on chemicals and bad for both humans and environment. Earlier we wrote this post on how cleaning routines can help you with your zen and psychological well being. Now time has come to give you some homemade recipes to use when cleaning. These are better both for you and the environment.
Wood floor cleaner
1/4 cup of vinegar
8 tablespoons of liquid castile soap
30 drops of lemon essential oil
Put all of the ingredients in a 1 gallon container and fill it up with water. Shake the solution really well, this you need to do every time before you use it.
Window and mirror cleaner
1/4 cup white vinegar (apple cider vinegar will work as well)
1/4 cup isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol
1 tablespoon cornstarch
8-10 drops essential oil of choice
Combine everything in a spray bottle. Shake well to mix, always do this before use otherwise the cornstarch may clog up your spray nozzle. Spray onto glass surface and wipe clean.
Tub and tile cleaner
1/2 cup baking soda
1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide
1 teaspoon of liquid dish soap
Mix well all ingredients and your cleaning solution is now ready to be used in your bathroom.
Bonus tip - Drain-cleaner
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 cup white vinegar
A kettle full of boiling water
Pour the baking soda in the drain. Pour the vinegar over the baking soda and then the hot water. Sprinkle the sink with baking soda, scrub and rinse and you will have a super clean sink.
